The Citrus Tower is still one of the most visible and recognized landmarks in the City of Clermont. Built in 1956, when Clermont was then mostly Groves of Citrus, as was so much of Central Florida, the grove freezes that came along some thirty years later, caused a shift in land use that still continues today, resulting in the beautiful area of Clermont. Clermont has its own Chain of Lakes, downtown area, great access to major highways, including a new exit off of Florida's Turnpike, which will give immediate access. Vacant Land opportunities exist, but one must be careful of State protected areas known by the unattractive (IMO) but ecologically important Green Swamp Area.
